Jos茅 Gabriel Palma is a Chilean economist, emeritus tenured professor at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Cambridge, and tenured professor (part-time) at the Faculty of Administration and Economics of the University of Santiago, Chile(USACH). Although his teaching at Cambridge focused on teaching econometrics for postgraduate courses, his research has been oriented primarily to the study of the political economy of development in Latin America and Asia, the distributional diversity in the world (and its measurement problems), and the vicissitudes of financial markets since the beginning of their deregulation (1980s).
